Use Videos to Propel Your Marketing Success in Several Ways

Posted by

Whether you’re a law firm, a manufacturing company, or a solo entrepreneur, video marketing can work for you in several ways. Find various ways to reach your targeted audience and you’ll reach more of them.  Read on for tips and information that will help you leverage the power of YouTube and video marketing for your website and your search engine optimization efforts.

Post Videos on YouTube

YouTube receives millions of visitors. Some are looking for entertainment, some are looking for something specific, and some arrive because search engines listed a video as an answer to a query they had. At Envoca Design, one of our clients created a law YouTube video channel and published 17 legal introduction videos answering common questions about PA car accident law. In just the first 6 months each video had an average of 30 views. Many of those views clicked through to the client’s website for help or further information. Videos can boost your reputation and your brand by being syndicated on sites such as YouTube.   People who find your videos may watch other videos, may syndicate your videos on their website (giving you even more exposure) and could subscribe to your video channel so that they can see future videos you make.

Tip: Take the time to categorize your videos. Don’t forget to add relevant keyword phrases to the keyword fields as well. Use keywords that you want to rank for.

Post Videos on Your Website

Web design experts will tell you that photos can make a good website great. Well, videos can make a great website fantastic.  Videos offer a great way to really connect with your visitors.  Sure, your design, your web copy, and your testimonials can make an impression but having videos can help you put a face and a professional image to that website. Your home page or “About” page could contain videos that introduce your firm to prospective customers. And, your blog could contain useful and helpful videos. The videos you post on YouTube can easily be posted on your website as well. Adding multimedia to your site could make a dramatic impact and really engage your visitors. People won’t always read a 5,000 word long sales letter telling why your product or service is worth buying but you can pack a lot of information into a quick video! Clients can send you video testimonials, you can create video case studies, interviews, demonstrations, and infomercials that could be used in multiple ways.

Tip: Promote Your Videos. Beyond posting videos to YouTube and to your website or blog, videos make great material for social marketing as well. You can post links to your videos on your Facebook page, your Twitter, feed, and on other social profiles, too. Link to them in blogs and articles as well.

More Video Marketing Tips:

  • Professional and casual videos can both be helpful. Take a look at competitors in your industry who are using video marketing to get ideas of what you can do and use that info to help inspire you to fill gaps that your competitors have left as well.
  • Get professional help with your videos, especially if they’re used as marketing pieces. You can have professional scripts written, have them filmed professionally, and work with a search engine marketing company who can help you get the most mileage out of them through social media.
  • Don’t use video in lieu of all other online marketing efforts.  Integrate it into your overall marketing and branding strategy.
  • Monitor and respond to comments on the videos you publish. There could be great opportunities to further demonstrate your expertise or capture a new sales lead this way.
  • Make sure you analyze traffic from your videos so you can leverage the intelligence you gather to continually improve traffic, social networking efforts, and branding. If you need help, contact Envoca Design.

How Does the Google Mayday Update Affect SEO for Law Firms?

Posted by

At the start of May, 2010, now not-so-affectionately known by many as May Day, Google made algorithmic changes that affected many websites. It could continue to impact sites going forward, specifically related to long tail keyword approaches. Because most legal blogs that strive for strong organic search engine placement do utilize long tail keyword phrases, this could change the way you should approach your SEO strategy.

What Happened?

Google changes its search engine algorithms regularly. They continually tweak it in an attempt to keep web search as “real” as they can. By real, they mean that they don’t want people to be able to “game” or manipulate their system. More than ever, they want the cream to rise to the top on a consistent basis so that they can retain their position as the most popular search engine in the world.
